Dr. Mehmet Deniz

I was born in Seydişehir in 1976 as the second child of teacher parents. After completing my primary and secondary education in the city where I was born, I started my high school education at Kayseri Science High School and completed it at Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School.

I won Ankara University Faculty of Medicine and started my medical education. During the internship in the Department of General Surgery in the 5th year, I was very impressed by this field and took the decision that will determine my life line and decided to become a General Surgery Specialist. After completing the medical school, I completed my general practitioner duty in 2005 by working as the Head of the Health Group in Konya's Ahırlı district.

In 2005, I won the Department of General Surgery at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital and started my specialty training. I continued my education for 6 years and became a General Surgery Specialist in 2011. I completed my military service by working at the TRNC Girne Military Hospital.

I completed my compulsory service in Bursa Iznik State Hospital as Deputy Chief Physician and General Surgery Specialist in 2013. In 2013, I started working at Private Tınaztepe Hospital and Buca Medical Center. Here, I became the pioneer of many surgeries in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery, especially obesity and metabolic surgery. I became the first practitioner of type 2 diabetes operation in İzmir. I contributed to the awareness of these surgeries by organizing the Metabolic Surgery Symposium in 2016.
